Dr. Laura Birkholz
Medical Director
Education: University of Wisconsin – Madison
I have always felt a bond with animals, so becoming a veterinarian was an easy choice to make at the ripe old age of 6 years old! I never could see myself doing anything else and have been living my dream of helping animals ever since. I am a native of Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2006 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After graduation, I moved to Colorado Springs and immediately fell in love with my now permanent home. My first nine years as a veterinarian were spent working with Banfield and North Academy Animal Hospital. I am now thrilled to be a member of such a wonderful team at Aspen View Veterinary Hospital. I am passionate about continuing education and progressing my knowledge to better help my patients. I was the Continuing Education Director for the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society from 2015-2017.
My professional interests include surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology, and I am a fear-free certified professional. In my off time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jordan, experimenting with new recipes, running and hiking with my rescue dog Gill, and attempting to catch fish. I look forward to partnering with you to provide the best possible care for your furry friend!

Nancy
Registered Vet Technician
My name is Nancy, I recently received my RVT certification and have been working in my career field for 15+ years.
I started my career right here in Colorado Springs and have been doing it ever since.
I own two dogs and two cats and one son.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a fondness for animals. At a young age, my parents enrolled me in Equestrian lessons. Horses were my favorite animal as a child. It turns out I was allergic to the one animal I loved most.
Despite that, my parents fostered my love for animals from a young age. I have had pets ranging from a hamster, guinea pig, baby ducks, a bird, a rabbit, and a dog.
I look forward to finding new ways to help your furry babies and appreciate that no one day is ever the same in this field.
